At SURFSET® NYC, we specialize in full body workouts inspired by one of the world’s most athletic sports - surfing!
Whether you're an avid surfer, learning to surf or just looking for a challenging/fun workout, our surf-inspired workouts can benefit you in a number of ways.
1. Surf Muscles & Skills - We draw from the real movements of surfing to build stability, strength, power and body awareness. These skills are beneficial to surfers and non-surfers alike! On our unstable surfboards, you will constantly work to stabilize while doing dynamic movements, which is the most effective way to strengthen you're core. Whether you take one of our interval-based classes (Blend, Burn or Strength) or our Surf Yoga class, our trainers will take you away from the traditional static workouts and challenge your body in new ways.
2. Body Awareness & Stability - The SURFSET® Board (Rip SurferX), a 6-foot long surfboard on top of three balance balls, is designed to mimic the feeling of being on water. The instability of the board adds an extra challenge to every exercise we do. As you progress in your practice, we can adjust the board to add additional instability and build body awareness in an ever-changing environment.
3. Fun & Adventure - Our overall fitness mission is to create unique workouts that are equal parts challenging and fun in a supportive environment!
